Pono Lopez is the associate chaplain for La Sierra University. He has served in the Southern California Conference as an academy chaplain, youth pastor, and most recently, the senior pastor at the Long Beach church. Pono committed his entire ministry to serving the future of the church, engaging with modern technology and techniques to minister best to young people. As a native hawaiian, he also seeks to explore how the church can include indigenous and oppressed cultures into the fabric of the church.
